2004 BL86 Flyby

Paramount ME, C-14 @ f/5.5, ST-10XME, -10° & binned 3x3. 50-10" exposures through clear filter. 2015 JAN 27 02:42:56-02:54:15 UT. FOV 18' x 26'. 2004 BL96 is thought to be about 500 meters across and was about 1,496,000 km away when the images were taken. When closest to Earth a few hours before it was about 1,197,000 kilometers away. Brightest star in the sequence is SAO 97978. South is up, east to the right. Skies were partly cloudy and clouds can be seen drifting through the field. Animation moves quickly once all images have downloaded. Animation created with GIFMaker.me.
