This is a low-resolution, low-quality (1.9mb) gif animation of the event, and it was made using a Canon Rebel 40si on an alt-az tracking tripod. The image has heavy post-processing with Gimp2, but it conveys the feeling and timing of an eclipse where the northern limb of the Moon is grazing the pre-umbral umbral line. See accompanying NASA Eclipse Center diagram. North is up; west is right; east is left. Beginning altitude was 31 degs; ending altitude was 8.4 deg. ]]>
