The Salt Lake Astronomical Society was happy to have co-hosted ALCON 2011 along with the Astronomical League and Bryce Canyon National Park at Ruby’s Inn.

The Salt Lake Astronomical
Society (SLAS) is a nonprofit
corporation formed in the state of Utah. We're composed of about 200 members wishing to enjoy the pleasures and benefits of an association of
persons interested in astronomy.
We're here to: promote astronomy encourage public education and interest coordinate activities with
professional research
Monthly meetings are: every 3rd Wednesday of the month at the
University of Utah's Engineering/Mines Classroom Building, Room 105 at 7:30 p.m.
(Except
December). Non-members are welcome to attend the meetings, however we'd
love to have you join the club!
We have a beautiful facility at Stansbury Park called
the
Stansbury Park Observatory Complex (SPOC) consisting of the Harmons
Observatory, which houses two large reflecting telescopes, and the Donna
Pease Wiggins Refractor House which houses a large refracting telescope.
We hosted ALCON 2002 in Salt Lake City, July 31 - August 3, 2002. We also hosted ALCON at Bryce Canyon National Park, June 29 - July 2, 2011.
